Teacups were stacked on the Kitchen/Dining room table ready to be packed for the move.
It seemed like an invitation for a photo op. :{
I had a lovely visit with the lovely Miss. Sydney ( 1/2 of the duo Dogwood & Dahlia http://dogwoodanddahlia.com/ ) ....Sydney and daughter #3 met at School back when they were in Grade 2 and quickly became best friends. That was over a decade ago. I have watched Sydney grow and evolve into such an amazing, caring, conscientious young woman since then. As well since the girls graduated from high school a few years ago Sydney and I have developed a very sweet cherished friendship. She is more than just my daughters friend, she has become mine as well and she is like a daughter to me. So I love catching up with Syd whenever possible to see what she has been up to and what she is thinking.We both share a love for life, Humanitarian Ideologies, fellow Foodies and of course a huge love for my daughter, whom has been back east in Toronto attending University for the past 3 years....so for all those reasons and the fact that Syd is just darn good company at any time, and anywhere, I was thrilled when she sent me a message a couple weeks back, wishing to get together soon. It had been a little over a year since the last time we had had a good visit so I was all over that when she got in touch and locked her in immediately...(she is a very busy girl you don't pencil this girl in EVER!)....
Miss Sydney in her new (to her) coat I found at a Thrift Store... yet another passion that we share...I think I "Nailed it" as her Mom put it... She looks great! (as always) :{ |
Sydney's Brilliant idea to take mugs on our chat and stroll...
I have never done this before; usually I have my travel mug ( I mean I always have my travel mug)
But I loved this..it just added to as amazing moment with a my dear friend.
We both were drinking Mint Chamomile Tea
We are very blessed to live where we do in the World and
Centennial Park has been a constant in my childhood, as well as my adulthood.
It was the perfect Fall setting for our walk today. :{
We walked past the new, 1st and ONLY Dog Park in White Rock

It's tough to top or continue such a great start to a day.
After our visit I headed over to the S.O.R.C.E. bike Park Trails
where I had earlier that morning dropped off this bell on the pathway I had cleared the day before
and I had an idea the night before...what if I made it extra fun. Rather than have folks 'happen' on the
newly cleared path..."What if" I made it a challenge/contest.
So, I thought of what I could offer to someone for discovering the pathway first that day...
and I had a lightbulb moment. A COWBELL!!!!! *ding *ding *ding...right!? Perfect!
So, I offered up one of my prized cowbells that I use for supporting CX races to the
1st person to discover the path the bell was theirs...with a wee minuet proviso....
That they take a photo of them with the bell once out of the single track over at the
Punk Track at the Covered Picnic Table and post on our Facebook Group wall
When I stoped by at the trail after a few hours with Sydney the bell had indeed been found....so I raced home to check the Facebook wall....nothing...and still a couple of days later still nothing...so now we have a mystery..
"Who found the Cowbell on the SORCE JYD Trail?"
hmmmm....
Well maybe they will show up next week at the Nationals Cyclocross race being held in South Surrey, British Columbia right here on the Peninsula this year...I am so pumped.
Congratulations to homever it was that found the bell.
I hope you enjoyed your fun discovery and your trek along the new pathway.
Enjoy!
